Earth Art 2009

Perfect weather today for Earth Art at the Royal Botanical Gardens. We spent about 5 hours wandering the different gardens looking at art. Thank goodness for the shuttle bus, otherwise I would never have been able to do it. Afterward we indulged in a guilty pleasure of foot long Texarcana hot dogs, which is a hot dog topped with chili and grated cheese. I never eat hot dogs but I have to say these are pretty good and it's a once a year treat. Check my blog from last summer to see a photo of the diner Easterbrooke's . A dumpy old place with all the original furniture and fittings from the 1950's.

Here's a few weird and wonderful sculptures we saw today. Oh! if you have a spare $20,000 you can buy the scarecrow !!

The very last photo is an old tree that died from a gypsy moth infestation. Did you know there's a formula to calculate exactly how much usable timber you can get from a tree? V=BO+B1*D^B2+B3*D^B4*H^B5
