I have added My Wife Has MS blog to my list of links. Interesting to read a partner's view of life with someone who has MS. I'm sorry to see that Anne has deleted her blog, Disabled Not Dead. I thought she had wanted to keep it as an information source and a valuable one it was.
Have read several news stories about the rise in candy and chocolate sales. People want a treat in bad times. This is good news for my son, who has a new part time job working in a candy factory. I don't know why they call it a part time job when the shifts are 11 hours. He still works at the pasta factory, one night per week.
I'll be glad when the school term is over as I think he's taken on too much. He is mostly likely annoyed reading this. Teenagers can't handle mother love.
Also in the news. I never in my life thought I would agree with Newt Gingrich, about the bailout mess. Life keeps getting stranger. Notice AIG has removed their sign on the headquarters building ? Guess they are getting worried they might get kidnapped like the boss in France, or attacked like they bank boss in England.
Also I was totally disgusted with Fox news and their ridicule of Canadian troops in Afghanistan. Yes you dummies Canada, is in Afghanistan, and four of our soldiers died there this past week. I'm not in favour of them being there, but I will defend them, just as you defend your own. Any wonder the world thinks so little of America ?
I'm home today. Feeling a bit better now, after a rotten evening last night and a not so great sleep. The usual tingling pain mess.It didn't help yesterday that a meeting was canceled after me rearranging my schedule to attend. What is it with people that they don't check their own agenda properly before they make appointments, or is it that they simply don't care?
Have to get back to writing my report for work a.k.a.: The ridiculous soap opera that has become my job.

8 Things. Do You Do Them ?
Here's an article from the Independent about 8 things Britons don't do any more.
I do some and have pretty good excuses for not doing others.
1. Peeling- Orange sales are down because people don't like peeling them.
During the winter I eat lots of oranges but I don't peel them. I cut them into quarters and add a light sprinkle of salt, a taste I picked up from my Dad. He says it's an Italian thing , but I don't know any other Italians who do it although they are very partial to salt, citrus , and bitter tastes, which I love too. Nothing like a salad of dark greens, lemon dressing , salt and pepper.
I can have salt thanks to my low blood pressure.
2. Lunching
People don't relax and go out for lunch, instead they grab a quick bite at their desk and carry on working.
I have a quick lunch at my desk so I can use my break time to go for a walk. At least that's a healthy reason.
3. Car Washing . Most people use the drive through car wash (what a waste of water and energy) instead of doing it themselves.
I don't have a car . I do remember my Dad enjoying washing his car by hand and polishing it.
4. Writing. Everybody uses Email and IM, rarely writing a snail mail letter.
I don't write letters by hand as my writing is so horrible. I will type a letter in a fancy font and put it in a card.
5. Shaving .
I think modern shavers are better and safer soI don't think giving up the old fashion shave is a great loss.
6. Reading
Is it true people read less ? I don't know because my family and friends are all big readers.
7. Strolling
Nobody has time to go for a leisurely walk.
I walk everyday(no car remember) , strolling ? well depends how much time I have
8. Tea Making
Britons don't have time to make tea ? What is the world coming to ?
I love tea and take the time everyday to make it in a proper tea pot . I like to try different kinds of flavoured black teas and green teas. No bag in a cup for me.
Other than that I think it's redundant for me to mention my MS.
Right now I'm stuffing my face with candy from Finland. One of the side benefits of my post card hobby.

Trying to Stay Cool
Typical weather around here, from freezing to suffocating. At least I am anyway.
I suppose I shouldn't worry about it. I'm beginning to feel the positive effects of my time off even though they have messed up my pay cheque, and are taking far more money off for the leave than they should. Not in the mood to wrangle with human resources right now. Must stay calm and serene. Besides , the more they take, the sooner it will be paid off. Repeat: must stay calm and serene.
Saw an interview today on BBC with the lady who posed for this painting
She's actually very attractive. Maybe she was having a PMS day when she posed. That's what the painting makes me think of.
Hey! it's not my fault I bought all this candy today. In fact, the caramel Mars bars are calling me.
Time to make a pot of tea and : stay calm and serene.
