Nat @ London Calling reminded me that today is Blog Action Day on Climate Change.
My post is short. Here's a link to "Ontario Drive Clean" which by coincidence is ten years old. I don't own a car and I don't believe in car ownership. We have adapted our lifestyle to the car instead of the car adapting to us. Instead of living in the suburbs and driving everywhere, do like me. Buy a dumpy house in the ghetto and walk everywhere or use public transit. You will feel better and so will the earth. If you have to drive a car, at least keep it clean to save the air we breathe. It also reduces the effects of climate change.
Oh yeah and you will save on gas too, which I notice the price is going up again.

A non car owner! I love you! Seattle is a big walk/bus/bike city.
Carole - we do own a car but put very few miles on it. I agree that not owning a car and living in the city is a great way to go; that's how we lived for many years. With Skip's wheelchair usage, a car is pretty much a requirement.
Last night after work, I ran an errand and so drove the car. I happily thought that I hadn't driven it since last Saturday.
Cranky I don't begrudge a person who really needs a car. What I hate is families were every person has their own vehicle . Kids can barely stand to walk ten steps they have to be chauffeured. I walk 15 minutes to work and people make it seem like that is a tragedy No it's called trying to be healthy.
Yeah Diane Seattle has lots of Greens who are not into the car culture.
it really very good.
